Is The American Dream Dead?

I had the opportunity to watch a repeat of Investing In America last night on CNBC.  I thought the town hall meeting with President Obama went well.  There was a gentleman there who asked the question is the American Dream Dead?  I found that question somewhat puzzling.  Reason being is that there are so many people who come to this country in search of the American Dream and a lot of them find it.  This gentleman has been in America probably all of his life and wasn't sure if it still existed.  So I wrote the question down because I wanted to give my two cents.  The American Dream is not dead.  You just have to restructure some things when times are tough to make sure that you can get through it.  As far as being an entrepreneur and starting your own business, nothing has changed even though the economy is tough.  You still have to be passionate about what is your going to be doing.  You still have to put in the work.  I think that a lot of people listen to the news so much about the economy being so bad that they aren't able to move forward.  They get stuck in a rut and some would ask the question is The American Dream Dead.  My answer is nope.  It is very much alive and if you want you can still achieve it you just have to have the dream and put in the work to make the dream come true.

In Spite Of It All Keep Going

This is a message of inspiration.  Lately my family as been going through sad times after sad times.  In the  last year we have had 3 deaths of people in my immediate family.  My mom was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and now we have to travel to Georgia for the second time this year to a funeral.  But, in spite of it all  I have to keep going with my business, because I feel like I am so close to reaching my goals.  The things that have happened are just a part of life.  Although they may slow me down I will keep going.  I love my family and although I've lost 3 members, I think the hardest thing I had to deal with was my mothers diagnosis, so for a minute I was down in the dumps, but I realized that in order for me to help her get through this I had to keep things as normal as possible, so I brushed myself off and got re-focused on my business.

With all of the sadness, it is times like these that I am grateful that I have been able to be an entrepreneur.  Because not too many jobs would allow me the flexibility that I have now.  I am able to stop everything to attend to the family business.  I am able to go with my mom to all of her doctor appointments and I am able to pick up and travel when I need to.  Although the journey of an entrepreneur is sometimes rough the rewards in the end are worth it.

Thanks for stopping by.

Lemonade Anyone?

Staying consistent is one of my biggest flaws, so I am working hard on correcting this. My goal is to bring you the latest business news and tips to help you start and grow your business, but sometimes life gets in the way. Recently my moms health became a concern for me and my family, so for a brief moment I felt down, but I quickly realized that I had to stay positive like I normally do. I need to be strong for my mom and help her get through her treatments. Because I am constantly making adjustments in my business this was nothing new to me. So once again I made the necessary adjustments and continued to move my business forward. I also realized that life is really short and that I need to live a little more. I work in my business daily, but now I need to set up a schedule and give myself permission to have some fun. So my message today is that Life is short so make sure you live it like it is your last day and when Life gives you lemons make lemonade.
